I recently did an animated fan video in which Reverse-Flash, the greatest villain of The Flash, is depicted as a member of the Illuminati. In this version of the confrontation with the Illuminati, Scarlet Witch, loses, as Reverse-Flash kills her simply by being faster.
While Marvel Studios hasn’t definitively stated whether they are done with Scarlet Witch, many are wondering if Elizabeth Olsen will ever return to the MCU as Wanda and, if so, how. The MCU has various ways of bringing the actress back, whether as the main version of Scarlet Witch or a potential variant from the multiverse. However, as time goes by, it seems less likely that Wanda will return.
Based on some of Elizabeth Olsen’s interviews from 2023, it seems like the MCU star may potentially be done with Marvel Studios. In a June interview, Olsen talked about Scarlet Witch’s possible future, stating that after playing the character for 10 years, she doesn’t necessarily feel the urge to return to the role anytime soon.
Given ongoing Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Marvel Studios couldn’t reveal their plans for Scarlet Witch even if they wanted to at this point. It would be disappointing if the MCU is actually finished with Scarlet Witch, as there are still more stories to tell about her. But for now, we will have to wait and see if Scarlet Witch makes a comeback or not.
