Babak Shirinsefat

10 years after the Qar-Baagh eh conflicts between Armenia and Azerbaijan, an Azarbaijani middle-aged folk composer who has spent 10 years in war refugees camp in Sabirabad, goes for his Armenian wife and his kid soon after watching some dream-like images. He leads toward Iran as his family were lost during occupation of Jibrail and fled to Iran. This film deals with human relations with nature, war and music, based on an Azerbaijani tale of Asli and Karam.

Babak Shirinsefat

Born in 1970 in Tabriz, Babak Shirinsefat has mostly made short films and documentaries since 1987. In this year he made his first short fiction film, Image, 1999 his next fiction short film The Lover's Words. He directed various documentaries like What is Short Film (1997), A Poem Like Life (1998), Julia (1999), Sword in Sheath (2000), Dadi Juri (2001), Like An Endless Alley (2003), Train of Zero O'clock (2005). Rami is his debut feature film. He is now working at a series documentary film, Ojagh, which is made in Iran, Turkey, Georgia and Russia. 2007 he takes part in many international film festivals like Fajr (Tehran), OSIAN's Cinefan of New Delhi (Opening Film), Festival of Iranian Films at Gene Siskel Film Center of Chicago, Eurasia Film Festival of Antalya, Festival of Iranian Films at Boston's Museum of Fine Arts, Cairo.
