Born 1974 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, he is graduated 1997 from the Theatre and Film Academy of Kazakhstan, Department Film Direction, under Talgat Temerov. Until 1999 he attended the Cinema Film Academy in Moscow (courses of A. Mitta). Silent Coolness is his fourth film.
