This film is based on the
reality of Indonesia, the largest Moslem community in the
world, where polygamy has always been a controversial issue.
Three women from three different social classes and ethnic
background convey their passages in dealing with polygamy.
They face the same predicament of having to share their domestic
life and the love of one man with several women.
The faithful Moslem Salma questions the morality behind the
practice of polygamy. Siti, a Javanese village girl, hopes
for a better life in the big city of Jakarta. And Ming, a
Chinese-Indonesian beauty willing even to become a kept mistress
to fulfil her ambitions of stardom. Over the course of a day,
their lives intersect without realizing that they share a
similar story.
