If You Were Me 2

If You Were Me 2 is an omnibus feature film planned and produced by National Human Rights Commission of Korea followed after If You Were Me (2004) in which 5 film directors participated under the theme of human rights. The project is meant to raise awareness on human rights issues, inspired by a tragic story of a Korean Chinese who died froze to death on the streets of Seoul in winter of 2003. The film deals with the daily discrimination and social neglect towards social minorities like North Korean teenage refugees, handicapped people, part timers, and Korean Chinese. The five segments are: Seaside Flower (by Park Kyung-hee), Hey, Man~ (by Ryoo Seung-wan), A Boy with the Knapsack (by Jung Ji-woo), Someone Grateful (by Jang Jin) and
Jongno, Winter (by Kim Dong-won).

Park Kyung-hee

Born 1965. studied film in Korean Academy of Film Arts. Her debut was with the 16mm short film From Midnight Till Dawn. In 1996 she was assistant director for Yim Soon-rye.

Ryoo Seung-wan

Born in 1973, he began making 8mm films as a middle school student. First short in 1996, Transmutated Head. Assistant director for Park Chan-Wook. Awards at Korean festivals for Rumble and Contemporaries.

Jung Ji-woo

Born in 1968, majored in Theatre. Awards for the 16mm movie Ginger, short story presented to the main competition of the 3rd Seoul Festival of Short Films. Road to Death, 16mm short film presented to the 1st Seoul Festival of Short Movies.

Jang Jin

Born in 1971, graduated from Seoul Institute of Arts, Dept. of Theatre. Acclaimed theatre plays. Debut in film1995 as assistant. His first feature film as director The Happenings in 1998.

Kim Dong-won

Born 1955, graduated in Mass Communication. President of P.U.R.N. Production, a leading documentary film group.
