Aktan Abdykalykov

Aktan Abdykalykov (Arym Kubat) was born 1957 in the Kyrgyz village of Kuntuu, 1976-1980 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of his country. 1980 he started working for the Kyrghyzfilm as decorator. 1992 he made his first feature film Beshkempir. He earned awards in the festivals of Cottbus and of the CIS and Baltic Countries. In the 2001 his feature film Miamil was screened at Asiaticafilmmediale.
