|
| A Message from Indian Women consists of thirteen
messages shot in India and Italy from May to September 2005.
The protagonists are some Indian women who, in spite of their
different occupations, have in common a strong social commitment:
Mahasweta Devi (writer, activist), Vandana Shiva (physicist,
ecologist, activist), Nandita Das (actress, activist), Vrinda
Dar (economist, committed in sustainable development projects),
Amala Shankar (dancer, painter). These messages urge to a daily
action inspired by values of respect, solidarity, creativity,
freedom. A daily action directed to a change that must of necessity
start from ourselves and then reach a global level. The thirteen
messages are the first production of a project aiming to bring
out the basic values of the ėgrassroots movements" in India.
