Young Sakura’s mother, Kinue, is chosen
to showcase a Persian carpet based on her design, for a festival’s
final attraction. One day Kinue is in a store and she suddenly
realises that she forgot her wallet. As she exits the building,
she is struck dead by a passing van. Sakura’s father,
Makoto, finally decides to take her daughter with him to Iran,
the man is a Persian carpet merchant.

Kamal Tabrizi
Kamal Tabrizi was born in Tehran
in 1959. He studied Cinema and directed his fist short in
1979. From 1988, Tabrizi began shooting feature films and
in 1995 he directed Leily is with Me, a satire of the Iran-Iraq
War. By Tabrizi we recall: On the altar of love (1990) and
A Mother’s love (1998).
