| Best
friends Xiao Ji and Bin are jobless. They have time to wander
round town on motorbikes and to hang out at the smoky recreation
centre. Xiao Ji has a real crush on pretty Qiao Qiao, a dancer
and a model. In the meantime, Bin Bin’s mother wants his
son to join the army. The story of a generation which sees future
dictated by money and financial gain.

was born in 1970. He started his career as a painter at the
age of eighteen. He then developed an interest in literature
and cinema. He received international attention for his two
films Xiao Wu (Pickpocket, 1997) and Platform (2000).
