After a long stay in London, Sujata Rajasuriya returns to Sri Lanka with her daughter Aruni. Her sister Sita, who sacrificed her life to running the family’s mansion, is waiting for them back home. Sujata and Aruni dream of rediscovering the happiness they once had. But things are not any more as they used to be. The mansion, splendour of a bygone age, is doomed to disappear, and with it, the last illusions of a dying caste will eventually be shattered.
