Tumendemberel Sarantuya

Born in Ulaanbaatar in 1951, spent 28 years in Mongolia’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs after graduating from the Moscow Institute of Cinematography (vgik) in 1972. During this time Sarantuya was assigned to the Mongolkino studio and served as Director to the State Film Distribution Board. She also headed the Film Department at the Ministry of Culture. In 1995 Sarantuya established Mongolian Movies — a private company, where she has devoted herself to film production and distribution. Hovor Hun marks her debut as a film director.
